Caroline sent me this gift out of the blue. It is a guide for slicing bread. To be honest, when I first took it out of the box, I thought 'eh, that was sweet but it's going to be a dust collector'. I was wrong! I really like it and use it to slice every loaf I bake now. It is much easier than getting out the electric knife and winging it, for me at least.
